Tesla boss Elon Musk recently criticised LinkedIn, the job search platform owned by Microsoft. His comments were in response to a post by a user named Alex Cohen, who expressed his strong dislike for LinkedIn, stating, “I hate LinkedIn with a passion.”

Responding to it, Elon Musk agreed, “LinkedIn is so cringe it will make your toenails curl”.

Elon Musk’s social networking site X reportedly boasts 600 million monthly active users (MAUs), while LinkedIn has approximately 1 billion members spanning over 200 countries.

The comment sparked a flood of replies from social media users, many of whom expressed their support for the billionaire.

One user commented to Elon Musk and Alex Cohen, highlighting a key difference between X and LinkedIn: “The most significant distinction between X and LinkedIn is that people tend to be their true selves on X. On LinkedIn, too many people are posting as if HR is hovering over them.”

Another said, “They also have the most useless notifications on the web.”

There was one user who also recommended everyone delete their LinkedIn account. “I recommend everyone delete their LinkedIn. The amount of spam calls and emails will decrease by 80 per cent,” the user wrote.

While another remarked, “Some of the postings aren’t real jobs. Companies post to simply wrangle more traffic to their page.”

It has been reported that Elon Musk intends to provide a job search feature that will enable users to locate job openings directly on the platform. Building on his previous efforts, Musk’s AI company began posting job openings on the @XHiring page in the United States. This could signify a bigger drive by the tech mogul to convert X into a versatile ‘everything app’.

Elon Musk previously attacked Meta-owned WhatsApp for focusing on user security. According to Musk, Meta exports user data every night, yet some individuals still believe it is a secure platform. After which WhatsApp Head Will Cathcart responded to Musk’s report, saying it is incorrect.
